Dr. Baxley's passion for dentistry began when he was 14 years old. At this age he worked as a dental assistant for a prosthodontist and oral surgeon in his home state of Florida. After graduating from high school he earned a degree in Biology at Baylor University. Four years later, in 1986, he received his DDS degree from the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. Just a year later he established his practice in Austin.
